MACF Odell Fund Supports Quality of Life with $75,000 in Community Gifts

The Minot Area Community Foundation (MACF) is pleased to announce two grants totaling $75,000 to support local organizations advancing health and quality of life in the Minot area. These gifts were made possible through the Roger R. and Delores Odell Fund, which is a donor-advised held at MACF.

A $25,000 grant was awarded to the Trinity Health Foundation to support its Parkinson’s Exercise Rehab Program, which provides no-cost exercise programming proven to improve mobility, longevity, and overall quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. This is a fitting gift from the Odell Fund, as Delores lived with Parkinson’s disease and the couple cared deeply about supporting programs that enhance quality of life for those facing similar challenges. As the Parkinson’s Exercise Rehab Program prepares for a location move, these funds will help ensure services continue without interruption and support the purchase of needed equipment for the new space.

A $50,000 grant was awarded to the Minot Family YMCA to assist with ongoing flood recovery efforts. As a long-standing cornerstone of the community, the YMCA has played a vital role in strengthening wellbeing for its members and the greater region. Mr. Odell, a longtime Minot businessman, cared deeply about supporting the community that supported him, and this grant continues that legacy.

“These grants are a powerful reflection of donor intent, and the enduring legacy Roger and Delores created for our community,” said Jason Zimmerman, MACF President. “They were committed to supporting organizations that make our region healthier, stronger, and more connected. Their generosity continues to create meaningful impact well beyond their lifetime.”
