NWND Fund for Girls


The Minot Area Community Foundation is proud to announce a new grant opportunity through the NWND Fund for Girls. The fund was originally established to support girls in the region and will now be distributed through an annual open grant round to broaden its impact.

This fund is dedicated to supporting programs that help girls build character, confidence, leadership, life skills, and strong values. Eligible organizations include nonprofits, schools, and charitable groups serving youth in Northwest North Dakota.

Eligible programs must serve girls or young women in one or more of the following counties: Bottineau, Burke, Divide, McHenry, McKenzie, McLean, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, Rolette, Sheridan, Ward, Wells, Williams.


2025 GRANT APPLICATION PERIOD: AUGUST 20-SEPTEMBER 25.  
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.

Fall 2025 marked the first annual NWND Fund for Girls Grant round, and grants totaling $42,230 were awarded to the following organizations:
  • Bio Girls, for 2026 programming in Stanley & Mountrail County
  • Central Middle School, for the CMS Book Club for Girls
  • Companions for Children, for the StrongHER pilot program
  • Full Steam Ahead, for Girls STEAM Programming
  • Local Motives, for Girls Take the Stage: A Citizens Alley Summer Concert in 2026
  • Minot Park District, for the empowHER program
  • Sunnyside Elementary School, for the Sunnyside Girl Power program
  • Tribal Nations Research Group, for the Strong Hearts, Strong Leaders: Women's Leadership Program
